Glacier Emeralds Invite (Kalispell)

The Lady Osprey invaded Kalispell in force this past weekend.  All five team (U10, U12, U14, U16 Blue & U16 White) participated.  The U10 team played four games and battled gallantly in all of them.  U12 had another good showing, bringing home a second place trophy.  U16 Blue and U16 White both bowed out early in single elimination play.  The U14, however, brought home a third place trophy, making a great run.  Smiley was the workhorse on the mound pitching beautifully throughout the tournament and also had a few big hits as well.

Congratulations U12 & U14!

Magic City Havoc Classis  (Billings)

Fourth of July Shootout  (Spokane)

The Lady Osprey U16 White team competed in Spokane over the 4th of July weekend and had a decent showing.  No hardware brought home but a good set of games none the less.  The U16 Blue traveled to Billings and came up one game short of hardware but played a total of 7 games.  Two U14 players participated in that tournament and did a fantastic job.  U14, U12, and U10 did not play over the holiday break.

Splash Classic (Polson)

The Lady Osprey debuted their U10 team this weekend and they looked good.   They lost a heart breaker in the 3rd/4th place game but had a great showing.  The rest of the club faired Ok but did not make it to the trophy case.  The rest of the teams in the state are starting to play at the level the Lady Osprey played at early in the year.  That means we need to elevate a bit more to step above the rest of the field.  We will do just that.  Our focus now is Kalispell and State.  Keep playing hard and good things will happen.

Electric City Heat (Great Falls)

The Lady Osprey did not put a team in to the trophy round but all had the chance to do so.  The ladies could have had a better showing but the tournament was still a success.  Across the board we didn't perform to our capabilities. We are learning some things and honing our skills.  We still have a lot of work to do as the other teams are getting better also.  Now is not the time to get lazy, in fact it is the time to buck up and get to work.  We will do some practicing to work on the things that need work, and perfect those that we are already good at.

Capital City Thunder (Helena)

Sunday brought all night rains, sloppy fields and dampened spirits.  Sunday's championship play had to be cancelled for safety reasons.  The only decision to be made was how to award the trophies and medals.  The decision was to award based upon pool play standings.  This was good for the Lady Osprey program as the U12 was seeded #1 in their pool, U14 was also seeded #1 in their pool and the U16 Blue was seeded #2 in their pool.   Ultimately the #1 seeds had a best 2 out of 3 coin toss to determine first and second place and the #2 seeds tossed for third and fourth.

U16 Blue won the best two out of three and was award the 3rd place trophy and medal in the U16 division,  U12 made a mistake and had Tim represent them at the toss (although he did call what he was told to) and the lost the toss but received a very nice 2nd place trophies and medals.  U14 took home the Gold, winning their toss.  U16 White had a great showing playing 4 games and playing hard all the way through.

Keep up the good work ladies!  Great Falls in coming up fast.

Mining City Magic (Butte)

The weather was great, the teams looked good and the results were not to bad either.

U12 had another solid showing, taking home the 2nd Place trophy.  These girls are on fire.  Congratulations Ladies, Keep up the good work.

U14 dropped their Sunday game by one run but played hard and is improving.  The team is improving and will continue to get better.

U16 Blue played well but came up short.  Like the U14 squad they dropped a heartbreaker on Sunday to the ultimate tournament champions.

U16 White, in their first tournament took a trip to the championship.  They were unsuccessful in bringing home the championship trophy but will take second without any complaints.

CONGRATULATIONS to the Lady Osprey.  We will have a strong presence in tournaments this year and should be proud of our accomplishments.

Thanks for playing hard!

Tim
